Sausage Sandwich Lowdown

Not so much a recipe as a bit of info about sourcing vegan sausies!

The good news is that Linda McCartney's, Fry's, Dee's, VBites, Dragonfly Soysauges, Cauldron Vegan (not regular) and Vegetarian Choice are all vegan. Dee's and Dragonfly are also gluten-free.

Ingredients:

1½-2 sausages per person, sliced lengthways into thirds or halves, depending on the brand of sausages
Bread or rolls, any colour but just check it is vegan - ask the supermarket or shop
Vegan butter (optional) - eg Pure, Biona, Flora Freedom, Tesco Free From, Suma, Vitalite etc
Condiments: sauce eg brown, tomato, bbq; mustard, eg English, American, French, Dijon, wholegrain
Optional: sliced tomatoes, green salad leaves, grated carrot...

Method:

1. Heat the sausages by microwaving or lightly frying for a few minutes.
2. Spread the bread with vegan butter and/or your chosen condiment(s).
3. Slice the sausages if you haven't already done so and add the pieces to the bread.
4. Add on any salad ingredients you might be using.
5. Place the lid of bread on top, press firmly so the sandwich sticks together then cut in half. Serve hot.
