Fry's Glazed Sesame Skewers

Another great recipe from Fry's website, using their chunky strips - a great crossover recipe for when you have vegans and non-vegans to cater for!
Devised and photographed by Vegan Peasant Catering.
Ingredients:
You will need 20 wooden skewers, 15cm/6 inches, pre-soaked in cold water
- 1 box Fry’s Thick Cut Chunky Strips
- 1 large whole spring onion, cut diagonally into 2.5/1 inch long pieces
- 1 red pepper, cut into 1.5cm/half inch squares (approximately!)
- 30g white sesame seeds
Glaze
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp plain oil
- 3 tbsp soya sauce, preferably shoyu or tamari type. eg Kikoman, Sanchi, Clearspring etc
- 1 whole red chilli, de-seeded and chopped fine
- Freshly ground black pepper
Method:
1. Place all of the glaze ingredients into a bowl and then mix with the strips. Marinade for at least for 30 minutes. Keep any leftover glaze for serving.
2. Preheat a griddle pan or grill for 5-10 minutes. Thread one piece of spring onion, then a red pepper and one chunky strip on to each skewer. Cook the skewers on the griddle or under the grill, turning once or twice. Serve hot, drizzled with any leftover glaze.
