Black Forest Gateau Smoothie

This smoothie is so incredibly indulgent and delicious, you can’t believe it’s made from fruit – you can have it for dessert it’s so yummy!

One of our team adds all of the optional healthy extras to hers every morning and says it helps towards reaching your 10 a day and boosting your immune system! The veggies are all disguised by the lovely ripe banana and dates – healthy but you wouldn’t even know it!

Ingredients

  • 160g/1 cup frozen berries of your choice
  • 1 very ripe banana
  • 1 tsp nut butter of your choice (optional)
  • 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 2 Medjool dates, stones removed
  • 325ml/1½ cups plant milk of your choice

Healthy optional (!) extras (you might need to add a little more plant milk if adding any (or all) of these):

  • Switch out half a cup of the berries for half a cup of frozen peas
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric and pinch black pepper
  • 1 lump frozen spinach
  • 3cm cube fresh beetroot
  • 1 sprig broccoli
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 tbsp buckwheat flakes
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp dessicated coconut

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
